Balloon Info
How long will my balloons last?
Your balloons and balloon arrangements available online will last approximately 3-4 days at their best, however this can be a lot longer if cared for properly (See ‘How to look after my balloons' below). We do however, suggest collecting your balloons the day before or the day of, your event to ensure longevity and maximum impact.
How to care for my balloons
Weather and seasons can affect your balloons throughout the year in different ways. Heat can make your balloons expand and the cold can make your balloons shrivel, all of which is normal. We recommend keeping your balloons at room temperature as much as possible and taking them out of your car as soon as you arrive home.
We appreciate that balloons can make even the biggest of children (Adults) very excited and we take extra care when creating your balloons and while they are very durable we suggest no hitting or pulling on them as this can cause unnecessary damage.
Collecting your balloons
When collecting your balloons, we suggest having your back seats down in your car upon arrival.
Please head to the car park behind our Tilehurst store, which is located just off of Walnut Way (RG30 4RN)
Park up behind the store by our vans, and come and knock on the back door to collect. A lovely member of staff will be here to help you to the car.
Please await an email to confirm that your order is ready to collect.
Stock Availability
We like for you to be able to order right up until the night before you need your balloons, so that if you haven’t had time or have forgotten, we can get you out of a hole, and although we keep most balloons in stock, all year round, please be aware that if you are last minute ordering, that the balloons are subject to availability and may need to be changed slightly due to stock levels at that current time.
Faulty Balloons / Refunds
Although a very rare occasion, sometimes balloons can be faulty and have small holes or broken valves, which aren’t always noticeable straight away. If you think you have a faulty balloon please do contact us straight away so that we can sort out a replacement for you as soon as possible.
We do start preparing your balloons up to a week in advance (Things such as printing personalised balloons, putting balloons by etc.).If you need to cancel within 7 days of your collection date, unfortunately we cannot issue a refund as everything is individually created for each customer, and therefore cannot be re-used or re-sold.
Sustainability and Environmental Impact
Latex balloons are made from a natural product derived from trees found on farms in equatorial regions. The trees are “tapped” to release the liquid latex, so there is no need for the tree to be trimmed or chopped in anyway, and no risk of deforestation. One tree can produce enough latex to last 40 years.
As latex is a 100% natural product, it is completely biodegradable, which means it will break down into a residue that is safe for the environment.
Latex balloons break down at the same rate as other natural products, such as oak leaves and wood fibres. The time that they take to biodegrade is however influenced by the environment, so whether it is dry, light, or dark for example.
Foil balloons are also made from a synthetic material that is recyclable, as well as being able to re-fill and re-use them many times
Our suppliers are also gradually making the switch to 100% cardboard packaging all of which is recycled in store.
Balloon Gas Safety
Some of our balloons are filled with what’s known as ‘Balloon Gas’ which most people refer to as helium. Balloon gas is a mixture of helium and air. Balloon gas is safe when used correctly but you should never deliberately inhale the gas as it is an asphyxiant and can result in health complications such as low blood pressure, fainting, heart attacks, hypoxia, and sudden death.
